Farmers' Market Festival 2009
Join us for a day filled with a variety
of fun events:
Cooking Demonstration with Leah Bontelle, using seasonal produce directly from the market! Ongoing from 10:00am - 1:00pm; funded by a grant from CHNA5.
The Pumpernickel Puppets perform "Peter Rabbit" at 10:00 am. Sponsored by the Union 61 Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Grant program.
"Dancing With Your Dog" demonstration led by professional dog trainer Laurie Merritt, highlighting a "Circle of Life" routine. Time TBA; stay tuned!
Music by Rob Adams: Sponsored by Country Bank for Savings. Rob will begin playing acoustic guitar and singing at 9:00am, and will continue throughout the day, in between events.
Hitchcock's Annual Tag Sale - You never know what treasures you may find! Donations welcome, but no clothes, books, or computer items, please. Tag sale will be open for business 9:00am - 2:00pm.

Old Sturbridge Village
Old Sturbridge Village is the largest outdoor living history museum in the Northeast. The recreated village depicts life around 1830 in New England. Visitors can see demonstrations of many crafts and cooking, learn history from interpreters in period costumes, take a tour of the Quinebaug River, and visit the working farms. Special events geared to families are held throughout the year.

Beyond Belief: The Curious Collection of Professor Rufus Excalibur Bell, a new exhibition opening Saturday, June 20, at the Higgins. Although Bell is an imaginary character, the dragons, gargoyles and myriad of fantastic creatures he’s “discovered” come alive through the talents of Somerville, Mass., artist Hilary Scott. The 70 artifacts and specimens, as well as the equipment that Bell uses to find his discoveries, are displayed in a recreation of Bell’s Edwardian study and the museum space where they are unpacked and identified. “Beyond Belief” is open through 2011; accompanying programming will run throughout the year.

Our aim is to protect the New England charm and rural character of our communities, promote proactive conservation, and the creation of greenways and wildlife corridors. Opacum Land Trust is able to permanently protect open space through donation or purchase of land, bargain sales, or by holding a conservation easement.

When Myra Keep Lovell Moulton died in 1988, the last of a long line of Keeps in Monson, she willed her property, its contents and an endowment fund to the town. She was an avid collector and her button collection is considered one of the largest in the US. She mastered many forms of needlework and many of her works are on isplay, as are examples of her work in oil, water color and ceramics. History was also important to Myra and the museum contains many examples of this interest: history of her family, her town, her church, rocks and minerals of the area -- to name only a few.
Open House: 1st Sunday of each month 1:00-3:00pm from early April to December. Nature tours frequently available with former National Park Service naturalist

2009 Maze
THE LOST TOMB
